Merging PDFs without installing an app

Most guides tell you to download a PDF app. But you don't need one. PDFDocker runs entirely in your mobile browser — Safari on iPhone, Chrome on Android — and merges PDF files instantly without any installation.

How to merge PDFs on iPhone (Safari)

Step 1 — Open Safari and go to PDFDocker

Open Safari on your iPhone and navigate to pdfdocker.com/tools/merge.

Step 2 — Tap "Click to browse"

Tap the upload zone. Your iPhone will show options to choose from Photos, Files, or iCloud Drive.

Step 3 — Select your PDF files

Navigate to where your PDFs are stored. In the Files app, you can select multiple files by tapping "Select" first, then tapping each PDF.

Step 4 — Merge and download

Tap the Merge button. When complete, tap the download link — Safari will save the merged PDF to your Files app or prompt you to share it.

Tip for iPhone: If you can't find your PDFs, check Files → On My iPhone, or Files → iCloud Drive. PDFs from email attachments are often in the Downloads folder.

How to merge PDFs on Android (Chrome)

Step 1 — Open Chrome

Open Chrome on your Android device and go to pdfdocker.com/tools/merge.

Step 2 — Tap to upload

Tap the upload zone. Your file picker will open showing your Downloads folder and internal storage.

Step 3 — Select multiple PDFs

Long-press the first PDF, then tap additional PDFs to select multiple files at once. Tap Open.

Step 4 — Merge and save

Tap Merge. When finished, tap the download link — Chrome will save the merged PDF to your Downloads folder.

How to merge PDFs on Mac (without Adobe)

Method 1 — Use PDFDocker in your browser (fastest)

Open any browser on your Mac and go to pdfdocker.com/tools/merge. Drag and drop your PDFs onto the page and click Merge. No installation required.

Method 2 — Use Preview (built into macOS)

Mac's built-in Preview app can also merge PDFs:

  1. Open the first PDF in Preview
  2. Go to View → Thumbnails to show the sidebar
  3. Drag additional PDF files into the sidebar at the position where you want them inserted
  4. Go to File → Export as PDF to save the merged document

Preview is great for simple merges but PDFDocker is faster for combining many files and gives you more control over order.
